Free and paid desktop features
Folders, bookmarks and cloud storage require Plus or Patron. The desktop support page notes that Smart Playlists are not available on web or desktop. The web and desktop New Releases view covers unfinished episodes from the last two weeks; those views do not sync with mobile.

Folders with Plus or Patron
Paid subscribers can create custom folders from the folder icon in Podcasts, select podcasts, choose a name and color, and save. Folders sync across devices. Deleting a folder returns its podcasts to the main list rather than deleting them. Uploaded files cannot be organized into these folders. Smart Folders organize podcasts by topic and are suggested after following at least eight podcasts.

What happens after cancellation
Cancel through the platform used to purchase the subscription; uninstalling does not cancel. Paid features remain available until the subscription expires, then the account returns to free features, including sync. Cloud files are deleted, while files downloaded to mobile remain. Folders and bookmarks become unavailable but are retained for a later resubscription.
For a web or desktop purchase, open the profile icon, select the email address, then Cancel Subscription and complete the prompts.
