How to Cancel Splice and Keep Track of Your Samples and Credits

To cancel Splice, open your account's plans page, select the subscription you want to end, and follow its cancellation flow. Before confirming, check whether you are canceling a Sounds plan or a separate Rent-to-Own product. Save the confirmation and the date the paid access ends. The important distinction is between samples you already purchased and subscription credits you have not used. Ending the plan does not affect both in the same way.

Review credits before canceling

Splice says paid access continues through the current billing period. After the subscription ends, unused credits become inaccessible and expire 28 days later; resubscribing before that expiry can restore access to them. Samples already purchased remain available to browse and download, and their certified licenses continue. Splice samples-and-credits policy

Before ending the plan, review your credit balance and decide whether you actually want to use any credits. Do not make unnecessary purchases simply because credits will expire. Instead, prioritize samples you can reasonably use in current projects and keep a record of what you obtained.

Cancel the correct plan

  1. 1

Sign in to the account connected to your receipt.

  2. 2

Open the plans or subscriptions page.

  3. 3

Review every active subscription shown there.

  4. 4

Cancel the intended plan and complete all confirmation prompts.

  5. 5

Record its end date and check that renewal is no longer scheduled.

If you have several products, make a separate decision for each. Do not infer that canceling Sounds automatically stops payments for a Rent-to-Own instrument or effect.

Organize projects before access changes

For active music projects, note which samples you used and where the local files are stored. Keep the relevant license information with your project records. This is useful housekeeping even when the service allows later downloads: it makes the project easier to reopen without searching through an account history.

Avoid confusing a sample's license with the right to access an unrelated paid plugin. If a project relies on a separate plugin subscription, check that product's terms independently before ending it.

Would pausing be better?

Splice offers a pause option for eligible plans, generally for one or two months. Its help page says annual plans are not eligible, and normal billing resumes after the pause. Review the restart date before choosing this option. Splice pause policy

A pause can fit a short break, but it is not permanent cancellation. If your goal is no future renewal, choose cancellation rather than relying on a reminder to revisit a paused plan.

For Rent-to-Own, Splice's pause guidance explains that payment progress can be retained when the plan is resumed. Read the terms for the specific product before deciding whether to stop, pause, or complete the remaining payments. Rent-to-Own guidance

Refund and billing questions

If a payment is unexpected, identify the exact plan, invoice date, and amount. Ask support to review that payment separately from your cancellation. Do not assume that unused credits automatically entitle you to a cash refund.

After the former renewal date, compare your statement with the plan confirmation. Keep the receipt, cancellation record, and any support response together. That makes it possible to distinguish a new renewal from a payment for a different Splice product.
