Zapier Free Trial: 14-Day Access, Limits, and Billing

New Zapier accounts receive a 14-day Professional trial without a credit card. The standard new-user trial does not automatically become a paid subscription: if you do not upgrade, the account moves to the Free plan when the trial finishes. Zapier also offers other trial arrangements, so check the type shown in your account before assuming the same billing rule applies. The most important exceptions are card-backed re-trials and certain Team trials. Zapier’s cancellation guide describes a seven-day re-trial that requires a payment method and converts to paid service unless canceled. Adding card details during a Team trial can also enable an automatic paid upgrade. Zapier cancellation and re-trial billing Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

What the standard trial includes

The Professional trial provides access to premium app integrations, workflows with multiple action steps, webhooks, Formatter, and AI Fields. The trial guide also lists two-minute polling intervals for polling triggers. These features let you evaluate more than a simple trigger-and-action workflow, within the trial’s stated limits. The trial allowance is 1,000 tasks, and only the first 30 steps of a Zap will run. Autoreplay, pay-per-task billing, and paid Zapier Forms features are not included in this trial. A trial can therefore differ from the full paid plan even when both carry the Professional name. Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

Check the limits before interpreting a stopped workflow as an integration failure. Running out of trial tasks and selecting a feature not included in the trial are different from a problem with the connected app. The trial guide’s feature table is the relevant reference for those distinctions. Premium apps can have their own requirements

Zapier marks premium integrations with a Premium tag in its app directory. They are available on paid Zapier plans and during an eligible free trial. If a workflow depends on one, check its tag and the plan requirements before assuming it will continue unchanged after the account returns to Free. Zapier premium app requirements

Some connected apps also require their own paid plan for API or Zapier access. The Zapier trial does not override those separate requirements or provide a subscription to every outside app it connects. Review the connected app’s requirements as well as the Zapier account’s plan. Zapier premium app requirements

This distinction helps explain why a trial can expose an integration while the connection still cannot perform a particular action. There are two services involved: Zapier supplies the automation platform, and the connected app controls its own account permissions and available functions. Use the app’s official integration requirements to identify which side needs attention. Zapier premium app requirements

Build a workflow that reflects the task you need

Start with one real workflow you intend to keep using. Identify the event that should start it, the connected account containing that event, and the action that should follow. Then check whether each selected app and feature is included in the active trial.

Use the trial to inspect the results as well as whether the workflow runs. A successful connection is only part of the evaluation: the output needs to contain the right fields and reach the correct destination. Keeping the first workflow focused makes it easier to distinguish a mapping mistake from an access or plan limit.

Before adding many steps, compare the workflow with the trial’s 30-step running limit and task allowance. If the planned automation needs features outside those limits, assess the paid plan’s own terms rather than assuming a longer trial will remove the restriction. Team trials have different features and billing

The Team trial adds collaboration features such as shared app connections, roles and permissions, and a shared workspace. Its guide lists up to 25 users and one-minute polling intervals. These are relevant when several people need to build or manage automations in the same organization. Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

Task allowances depend on the starting account: an existing paid account keeps its current plan’s allowance, while a Free account receives 1,000 added tasks. The Team trial excludes workflow import/export and SAML single sign-on. Do not assume every enterprise-oriented feature is unlocked simply because the trial supports several users. If card information is added during the Team trial, Zapier says the account will upgrade to the paid Team plan unless you opt out. The guide directs users to Edit trial payment settings in the account banner, then Billing and Usage, where a different plan can be selected. Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

What happens when the trial ends?

For the original no-card 14-day trial, the account returns to the Free plan. Zapier’s pricing page lists Free at $0 with 100 tasks per month and two-step Zaps. The presence of a free account does not preserve Professional-only features or the trial’s larger task allowance. Zapier pricing and new-user trial Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

A two-step Zap has the trigger and one action. If the workflow you tested relies on more actions or a premium integration, review the relevant paid plan before depending on it after the trial. The decision is about the features the workflow uses, as well as its task volume. Zapier pricing and new-user trial Zapier premium app requirements

Additional self-service trials and Team trials can have a paid-conversion setting. The trial guide specifically warns that these arrangements differ from the initial new-user offer. Read the active trial’s end behavior in Billing and Usage rather than applying the no-card rule to every trial offered to an existing account. Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

How to stop a trial that would become paid

Zapier cancels a paid plan by moving the account to Free; its help page says there is no separate Cancel button. Open Billing and usage, choose Manage, and select the Free plan. Use this route before a card-backed trial ends if you do not want its paid continuation. Zapier cancellation and re-trial billing

For a paid subscription, the change takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle, with existing plan features available until then. Previously incurred pay-per-task charges can still appear afterward. Ending the base plan also does not cancel existing add-ons, which have separate cancellation instructions. Zapier cancellation and re-trial billing

The cancellation guide describes subscriptions as nonrefundable and links its refund policy separately. Selecting Free is a way to stop future plan renewal, not a request that automatically reverses previous payments. Account deletion is also a different action from changing the paid plan. More time and separate add-on trials

Zapier’s trial guide says a finished Professional trial can be extended from the account, while a Team extension is requested through support. Check the terms shown for the extension or re-trial before accepting it, especially if a payment method is requested. Zapier Professional and Team trial guide

Chatbots has a separate add-on trial. Its dedicated help page describes 14 days for testing paid Chatbots features and a one-time three-day extension. That offer should not be confused with the Professional automation trial or used to describe every Zapier account as having a 30-day trial. Zapier Chatbots add-on trial

Before choosing a paid plan, review the workflow features, task allowance, billing interval, and any separate add-ons in the account. Keep the resulting plan confirmation so you can distinguish the base subscription from products that continue under their own billing arrangements. Keep trial renewals on your radar.

Subpilot offers reminders for detected trials when the available data supports them. Check the provider’s renewal date yourself; a reminder does not cancel a trial or guarantee that a charge will be avoided.
