How to Cancel Albert

To cancel an Albert subscription, deactivate your account through the app or browser Help Center. Deactivation stops the recurring subscription fee, while permanently closing the account is a separate action. Albert also lists text and email support channels if you cannot complete the process yourself.

Before you begin, check whether you have money in Albert Savings or Albert Investing. Albert’s terms say those balances must be $0 before you can cancel the subscription. Existing loan or cash advance repayments may still continue after deactivation.

Before you deactivate or close your account

Choose the right action

Deactivation ends the paid subscription. Permanent closure is a separate account action with additional conditions.

Balances and repayments

Albert requires Savings and Investing balances to be $0 for cancellation. Existing loan or cash-advance repayments can continue afterward.

Family plan

Check the effect on other members before deactivating. A Family plan can cover the owner and up to four family members.

How to cancel

  1. 1

    Check your balances.

Resolve required Savings and Investing balances and pending transfers before cancellation.

  2. 2

    Open the Help Center.

In the app, go to Profile → Menu → Payments → Help center → Deactivate or close my accounts. A browser Help Center route is also available.

  3. 3

    Choose deactivation.

Follow every prompt to end the recurring subscription. Choose permanent closure only if that is your intended action.

  4. 4

    Save confirmation.

Keep the final screen or response, then check the Payments area for fee status.

Need help? Text 639-37 or email support@albert.com to request deactivation and subscription cancellation.

Confirm the change and manage remaining obligations

Check Payments against your confirmation date. Distinguish subscription fees from any continuing loan or advance repayment; ask support about transactions you cannot identify.

Troubleshooting common cancellation problems

Missing deactivation option

Update the app, confirm the correct profile, and try the browser Help Center. Contact support if neither route works.

Balance blocks cancellation

Check Savings, Investing, and pending transfers. Do not close a linked bank account while transfers or repayments still need it.

Subscription fee continues

Check that you completed the final deactivation prompt. Send support the charge date and saved confirmation for review.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my data after I cancel?

Deactivation cancels the subscription, but it is not the same as permanently closing the account. Albert treats permanent closure as a separate option with its own conditions. Review the official closure information before choosing that action.

Can I reactivate later?

Albert’s account help information includes reactivation after deactivation. If you later want to return, follow the current reactivation directions in the Help Center or ask customer support.
