How to Cancel a MuseScore Subscription

To cancel a MuseScore subscription, first identify where you purchased it. For a direct MuseScore subscription, use the Subscription link in the Settings section of your Profile page to cancel a trial or turn off automatic renewal. Cancelling automatic renewal does not end access immediately: the subscription remains available through the paid term. Read MuseScore’s terms

The cancellation path differs for subscriptions bought through the iOS or Android app. An auto-renewing iOS-app subscription must be cancelled using Apple’s instructions. An auto-renewing Android-app subscription must be cancelled through Google Play. Read MuseScore’s terms

MuseScore sells several products, including PRO, PRO+, LEARN, LEARN Lite, Digital Books, Premium, and a PRO+ with LEARN Lite option. Displayed prices and billing offers can change, so use the current pricing page as a reference rather than proof of the terms for an existing purchase. Review current MuseScore pricing PRO and LEARN are separate subscriptions, which means subscribing to both can create separate charges. Read MuseScore’s terms

Identify the product and billing cadence

Start by checking which product you intend to stop. MuseScore’s pricing page currently lists products with different displayed billing cadences, including weekly, monthly, and every-three-month options. Offers can vary and change over time. Review current MuseScore pricing

Do not assume that cancelling one MuseScore product stops every MuseScore-related charge. PRO and LEARN are billed as separate subscriptions when both are purchased. Read MuseScore’s terms

For example, someone could subscribe to PRO and later add LEARN. Turning off PRO renewal would not necessarily turn off LEARN renewal, because they are separate subscriptions. Review every active product that may apply to your account. Read MuseScore’s terms

  2. 2

    Identify the purchase channel

The key question is whether the subscription is direct through MuseScore or an auto-renewing purchase made through the iOS or Android app. The official cancellation route changes by purchase channel. Read MuseScore’s terms

For a direct subscription, sign in to the relevant MuseScore account and open the Subscription link in the Settings section of the Profile page. This route applies to cancelling a trial or stopping automatic renewal for a direct subscription. Read MuseScore’s terms

For an auto-renewing iOS-app subscription, follow Apple’s cancellation instructions. For an auto-renewing Android-app subscription, follow Google Play’s cancellation instructions. Do not use the direct Profile Settings route as a substitute for the required app-store route. Read MuseScore’s terms

    Cancel a direct MuseScore subscription

For a direct MuseScore subscription, complete these steps:

    • Sign in to your MuseScore account.
    • Open your Profile page.
    • Go to the Settings section.
    • Select the Subscription link.
    • Cancel the trial or turn off automatic renewal. Read MuseScore’s terms

MuseScore states that automatic renewal for weekly, monthly, or yearly subscriptions should be turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The account may be charged for renewal during the 24 hours before that period ends. Read MuseScore’s terms

For that reason, cancel as soon as you decide not to continue. Waiting until the final day may leave too little time before the stated renewal window. This is especially important when the displayed billing period is weekly. Read MuseScore’s terms

When you cancel automatic renewal of a direct subscription, MuseScore says access continues through the remainder of the paid subscription term. The cancellation prevents the next recurring charge rather than removing access at once. Read MuseScore’s terms

Use the correct route for app purchases

If your auto-renewing subscription was purchased through the iOS app, use Apple’s cancellation instructions. MuseScore says that this subscription type can only be cancelled through Apple’s process. Read MuseScore’s terms

If your auto-renewing subscription was purchased through the Android app, use Google Play’s cancellation instructions. MuseScore directs Android-app subscribers to Google Play for cancellation. Read MuseScore’s terms

Use the billing channel that processed the subscription. The direct MuseScore Profile Settings route applies to direct subscriptions, while Apple and Google Play handle the stated app-purchase cancellation routes. Read MuseScore’s terms

Review refund rules before submitting a request

Cancelling a subscription does not automatically create a refund for unused time. MuseScore says it generally does not refund the remaining portion of subscription fees except where its terms specifically provide otherwise. Read MuseScore’s terms

For weekly subscriptions, you may cancel during the active week. The current week is not refunded, the subscription remains active for the rest of that week, and later weekly billing periods should not be charged. Read MuseScore’s terms

For monthly subscriptions, you may cancel during the active month. MuseScore says the current month is not refunded, access remains for the rest of that monthly term, and later monthly billing periods should not be charged. Read MuseScore’s terms

For subscription periods other than weekly or monthly, cancelling during the first 14 days may lead to different offers based on usage and activity. A possible offer may include a refund of the difference between the applicable subscription fee and the fee for a shorter subscription period. The terms also state that automatic renewal will be turned off and recurring charges will stop at the end of the term. Read MuseScore’s terms

MuseScore’s terms state that annual-subscription refund requests may be initiated through its support email, web contact or contact-refund pages, Facebook channel, or MuseScore mobile-app messenger. Those request channels do not guarantee a refund. Read MuseScore’s terms

For a cancelled auto-renewing subscription purchased through the iOS app, submit the refund request to Apple Support. For a cancelled auto-renewing Android-app subscription, submit the refund request to Google Play Support. Read MuseScore’s terms

Troubleshooting

If you cannot locate the Subscription link or cannot resolve an account question, use MuseScore’s Help Center chatbot. MuseScore says the chatbot appears in the bottom-right corner of Help Center article pages for questions not answered in the Help Center. Contact MuseScore Support

Choose the issue that best matches your problem in the support flow, then send your request. Follow any instructions that MuseScore provides in that conversation. Contact MuseScore Support

If you see a charge after cancelling, first check whether it relates to the billing period already in progress or to a new renewal. MuseScore’s stated timing rule says weekly, monthly, and yearly auto-renewal should be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Read MuseScore’s terms

If you are unsure which product is involved, compare the product name and displayed billing cadence with the current MuseScore pricing page. Treat that page as a current reference, since products, prices, and offers may change. Review current MuseScore pricing
