How to Cancel an eHarmony Subscription and Check Remaining Payments

To cancel a directly purchased eHarmony Premium subscription, open Data & Settings → Manage profile → Amend Subscription, choose the cancellation link, and complete the requested information. If Apple or Google processed the purchase, manage cancellation through that store instead.

The key distinction is between stopping renewal and paying the rest of an existing term. eHarmony's US terms say cancellation does not remove remaining installment obligations. A monthly-looking payment can be an installment on a longer subscription rather than a month-to-month plan.

Read the original purchase confirmation first

Before canceling, locate the receipt or membership confirmation and record:

  • The subscription term you purchased.
  • Whether you paid upfront or chose installments.
  • The scheduled renewal date.
  • The remaining payment schedule, if any.
  • Whether eHarmony, Apple, or Google is the billing provider.

This prevents a common misunderstanding: assuming that every payment after cancellation must be an erroneous renewal. Ask support to identify whether a disputed amount is an installment, a new term, or another purchase rather than guessing from the statement date alone.

Cancel a direct subscription

Use the account path above, follow the cancellation prompts, and save the final status. eHarmony's terms require initiating auto-renewal cancellation at least 24 hours before the term ends. Ordinary cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term, without a refund for unused days, subject to the exceptions described in the terms.

Do not stop at a page that merely describes your membership. Look for evidence that renewal is disabled and record the end date. If the interface fails, contact eHarmony through its official support channel and retain the message and any case reference.

Ask for two separate confirmations when installments are involved: the date Premium access ends and whether any installments remain payable. This gives you a clearer record than a general statement that the membership is “canceled.”

If an app store billed you

Use the subscription account that appears on the receipt. For an Apple purchase, Apple's official subscription instructions explain how to find and cancel a subscription. If it is missing, check the Apple Account identified on the purchase receipt rather than repeatedly looking under a different account.

For Google Play, follow Google's subscription cancellation instructions. Check the Google Account used for the original payment. Removing an app is not a substitute for using the billing provider's cancellation controls.

Keep the store's confirmation alongside your eHarmony purchase record. If you need a refund for a store payment, start with that provider's refund process rather than assuming eHarmony can reverse the store transaction directly.

Refund requests need their own review

If you believe a refund exception applies, ask promptly and identify the purchase date, location, plan, and reason. The US terms contain specific cancellation provisions; they should not be summarized as an unconditional refund promise for every member.

A helpful inquiry is:

Please confirm that my subscription will not renew. Please also identify any remaining installments under my current agreement and review whether my purchase qualifies for a refund or cancellation exception.

Do not describe an agreed installment as an unauthorized transaction solely because you expected cancellation to stop it. If you genuinely did not authorize a payment, explain that separately and provide the supporting facts.

Account deletion comes later

Save membership and billing records before taking steps to remove the profile. Profile visibility, account deletion, and subscription billing are separate questions to resolve. If your aim is privacy as well as stopping renewal, ask support which account-removal process applies after billing is settled.

Keep only the records you need, such as receipts and confirmations, rather than retaining other members' personal information unnecessarily.

Keep track of what you want to cancel.

Review your subscriptions in Subpilot and request cancellation help where supported. Some providers require you to act directly; submitting a request does not confirm cancellation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why might I still be charged after canceling?

Check whether the amount is a remaining installment on the original term or a renewal. Ask eHarmony to explain the charge against the purchase agreement.

Can I cancel through eHarmony if Apple charged me?

Manage that subscription through the Apple Account used for purchase. The same provider-first principle applies to Google Play.

What proves the process is finished?

A cancellation confirmation or account status showing renewal is disabled, plus a clear understanding of any remaining payments. Keep both the end date and payment schedule.
