The source for these routes is Intelius's own response on its claimed Trustpilot profile, not a customer review. The current account interface could not be independently inspected for this guide, so exact dashboard button labels are not presented as verified.

Identify every paid item

Find your welcome email and recent payment receipts. Note the membership, account email, renewal date, and any separately purchased add-ons. Intelius's company replies explain that optional add-on services can have their own disclosed pricing and billing terms. Company explanation of add-ons

Ask support whether your request covers all recurring items you want stopped. Do not assume a general statement about “my account” identifies every separately billed option.

Request cancellation

  1. 1

Sign in using the purchase email and review the active membership.

  2. 2

Follow the available cancellation control through its final confirmation.

  3. 3

If you cannot locate or complete it, use the provider's phone or live-chat support.

  4. 4

Specify the membership and any recurring add-ons you want canceled.

  5. 5

Ask for written confirmation and the date billing stops.

If you have lost access, start with the original receipt and explain the login problem to support. Do not create a new paid account to try to locate an old subscription.

What to ask before ending the conversation

Ask whether the membership is canceled, whether any further renewal is scheduled, and what happens to access already paid for. Also ask whether another recurring item remains active.

These are verification questions, not claims that every plan has the same terms. Record the answers rather than assuming the membership ends immediately or always remains available until a particular date.

Keep the account identifier and cancellation confirmation outside the service. If you spoke by phone, note the time and any reference number and request an email confirming the result.

Refunds and disputed payments

A cancellation request stops future membership renewal; a refund request asks for review of a payment already made. Identify the charge date and amount and explain the reason separately. Individual resolutions described in company replies are not a universal refund guarantee.

If the payment followed an earlier cancellation, attach that confirmation. If you do not recognize the transaction at all, check your receipts and ask the provider to identify it. Contact your payment provider about any transaction you believe is unauthorized.

Billing is separate from personal-data questions

If your concern is information appearing in a report, describe that as a separate request. Do not assume ending a paid membership changes the underlying public record or removes information from every source.

After the former renewal date, compare your statement with the confirmation. If another payment appears, ask which account, add-on, and billing period generated it. The practical goal is a clear record of what was canceled and an explanation for any payment still outstanding.

Let Subpilot help

Keep track of what you want to cancel.

Review your subscriptions in Subpilot and request cancellation help where supported. Some providers require you to act directly; submitting a request does not confirm cancellation.
